The
House of Blues Foundation and IUMA are proud to present this multi-media
library of videos, sound clips, and still images from the Martin Luther
King Jr. Birthday Celebration and Tribute show. The Celebration took
place Monday, January 16th from 10AM PST - 1PM PST and featured an
all-star line-up of speakers and performers ranging from personal tributes
to Martin Luther King, Jr. by Chuck D. (Public Enemy), Isaac Hayes
and Dr. Eugene Grigsby III to a surprise appearance by Stevie Wonder,
feturing a live performance of "Happy Birthday."
The MLK birthday tribute show features the legendary gospel group
The Five Blind Boys of Alabama as well as a performance by the blues
harp master Charlie Musselwhite. Wrapping up the show will be the
Count Basie Orchestra (not broadcast).
In
addition to the live MBONE/CuSeeMe broadcast of the shows, live
up to the minute updates will be done on the web for those without that

Audio and video clips will appear over the next two weeks as they are
re-digitized from taped footage.
