The Great American Music Hall, with a capacity of 600 looks pretty tiny when empty. Yet what it lacks in size it makes up in personality. Burgundy pillars hold up the high high ceiling decorated in gold color mouldings that wind their way around the balcony railings and down the mirrorstrewn wall. With the large wooded dancefloor and marble-looking tables, it is a retro feel perfect for a night of 90's girl-band hip hop.

I stroll in to the distinct tune of "Deep Shag." They're warming up -- Jill Cunniff on bass, Gabrielle "Gabby" Glaser on guitar, Vivian Trimble on keyboard, and Kate Schellenbach on drums.
