Chris Burger, a founding member of and rapper in the Mo'Fessionals, sat down and talked to me for a few minutes. I was so excited! I really loved their show!
The East Bay-based Mo'Fessionals are a collective of diverse, talented individuals scattered throughout Berkeley and Oakland, just across the Bay Bridge from the City. The band formed when Chris and other soloists and musicians joined forces in 1991. Through their music, they express the truth of their life in the East Bay Area.
In particular, what the Mo'F bring that the other bands don't is a dialogue between the males and females. And that becomes clear through their music. CB raps; the chicks rap back.
There was never a dull moment in the Mo'Fessional show. Through their music, their raps, their spirit, they are showing the Bay Area and the world what independent music is all about.
